One-Way ANOVA (plant growth)

An experiment is designed to test whether four different nutrients

(A, B, C, D) may have different effects on plant growth. Three plants are grown in each of the four nutrients, giving us 4 sample sets with 3 replicates in each.

The 12 measurements of plant growth are recorded in the table below.

Use Minitab to

 

i)          produce a single chart, with box and whisker plots of the four samples,

 

ii)         perform a hypothesis test to investigate whether there is any significant difference between the mean values of the four samples.
