of which 7 are contaminated with cocaine.


Assume that database studies of mobile phones show that mobile phones from persons

convicted of handling cocaine show a 76% contamination rate, while mobile phones

from the general population show a 5.5% contamination rate.


Calculate the likelihood ratio for the evidence using the hypotheses:
- Prosecution: The suspect had deliberate contact with cocaine.

- Defence: The contamination of the mobile phones was accidental
